Frank M. Cavanaugh
Frank M. Cavanaugh is an accomplished attorney with an AV-Preeminent rating and a Butler/DeMarino award recipient for professionalism by the Colorado Bar Association. For over 30 years, Mr. Cavanaugh represented employers and their carriers in workers’ compensation matters before advocating for injured workers. He has extensive experience in all aspects of workers’ compensation and general liability litigation, including hearings, trials, and appeals before the Colorado Supreme Court. Additionally, he has expertise in workers’ compensation subrogation matters and workers’ compensation disability-related employment claims.
Mr. Cavanaugh is a former co-chairman of the Colorado Defense Lawyers Association workers’ compensation section and has developed and presented educational materials for continuing legal education seminars. He has also been recognized as an expert in workers’ compensation and medical billing in State and Federal district court litigation.
Apart from his legal practice, Mr. Cavanaugh has served as a zoning board member for the City of Lakewood and has prepared and instructed courses for paralegal and standardized test preparation exams, such as the LSAT, GRE, GMAT, SAT, and ACT.
Mr. Cavanaugh earned his BA in History and BS in Computer Science from Regis University and his Juris Doctorate from Gonzaga University School of Law in 1991. He is a member of the Colorado Bar Association and has been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America© for the area of Workers’ Compensation Law – Employers from 2019 to 2022.
